A few months ago I got the chance to give interviews for a Software Engineer, Machine Learning position at Google. While an offer is still pending due to internal processes, I completed the interview rounds successfully and received positive feedback. During this process I learned many valuable lessons. I wanted to document these for my future self and also share it to help others. These lessons led to me stay on track and succeed in the interviews.
These lessons and walkthroughs are from my perspective and subjective experience. But they might also help someone else. I have divided the things I learnt into major categories. These lessons intersect with technical preparation tips that are selective to an engineering interview, and also include insights that can be applied to almost any goal in life. I see these other insights as something that I should integrate mindfully in my regular life and identity.
(The ordering is in a progression, the foundational steps come first. )
